KALAMAZOO, Mich.– The Kalamazoo College men's soccer team lost, 2-0, to Loras University on Senior Day Sunday at MacKenzie Field.
Before the game, the Hornets honored seniors Jack Kreckman, Eamonn Burns, Joey Basil, Ben Battreall, Lucas Ruiz, Antoine Kondracki and Junior Matuza.
Loras scored the lone goal of the first half at the 13 minute mark. Both teams took six shots in the opening frame, with two on goal for the Duhawks and none for Kalamazoo.
The Duhawks continued the strong play on the back line and timely offense in the second half, scoring an insurance goal in the 81st minute.
Lane Lander made three saves in goal for the Hornets. Loras led in shots (15-10), shots on goal (5-2), and corner kicks (8-4). Ruiz and Brody Plumstead led the Hornets' offensive effort with four shots each.
Kalamazoo men's soccer plays its final two games before MIAA play next weekend, starting with a matchup at Baldwin Wallace University Saturday at 5:30 p.m. in Berea, Ohio.
