Women's Soccer Blanks Wooster at Home Saturday

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Kalamazoo College women's soccer team won, 2-0, over the College of Wooster Saturday at MacKenzie Field.

The Hornets outshot Wooster, 5-1, in the first half, but neither team recorded a shot on goal. Kalamazoo also held a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks in the 0-0 tie at the break.

Kalamazoo broke through in the 49th minute with a goal by Anna Courtney. Kate Klahorst set the play up with a pass across the goal box to Savannah Norman, who sent the ball towards the front of the net for Courtney to tap it in.

The Hornets extended the lead with a goal by Ruby Hogan in the 74th minute. She pounced on a loose ball in the center of the goal box and booted it through the left side of the goal.

Kalamazoo outshot the Fighting Scots, 15-3 overall and 5-1 in shots on goal. Jess Forbis made one save to earn her second shutout of the season.

Kalamazoo (3-2-1) turns around to face Concordia University-Chicago (1-4) Sunday at 1 p.m. (noon CT) in River Forest, Ill.
