CHICAGO – The Kalamazoo College women's soccer team lost at the #3 University of Chicago Tuesday, 4-1, to open the 2026 season.
Kearsten Schultz scored the Hornets' first goal of the year at the 2:31 mark, assisted by Savannah Norman, to give Kalamazoo the first lead. The Maroons answered back just over three minutes later to tie the score 1-1.
Chicago scored again in the 15th and 19th minutes to take a 3-1 lead into halftime. The Maroons scored the only goal of the second half in the 56th minute.
The Maroons outshot Kalamazoo 21-3 overall, 13-3 on goal, and held a 10-5 advantage in corner kick opportunities.
Jess Forbis made nine saves in goal for the Hornets.
Kalamazoo is on the road once again on Thursday at Beloit College at 4 p.m. (3 CT).
