TACOMA, Wash. – The Kalamazoo College women's lacrosse team won 17-3 at the University of Puget Sound Friday evening.
Kalamazoo scored the game's first goal 52 seconds into the contest. The Hornets led 7-0 at the end of the first quarter and 7-2 at halftime. Kalamazoo added eight goals in the third and two in the fourth.
Kalamazoo outshot Puget Sound 27-8 overall, 22-5 on goal.
Tessa Fuller led Kalamazoo with five goals and an assist.
Ella Spooner scored three goals with two assists.
Sophie Hartl scored three goals with one assist.
Kennedy Hynde and
Abbie Caza each scored twice.
Jordan Doyle had a goal and three assists.
Hynde had a team-high six draw controls, while Spooner had three along with four ground balls.
Kaitlyn Grice was credited with five saves in goal.
Kalamazoo returns home to open MIAA play against Adrian on Wednesday, April 1, at 5 p.m.
