CLERMONT, Fla. – The Kalamazoo College softball team dropped the final two games of the spring trip to No. 19 UW-Oshkosh and Colby College on Wednesday.
Game 1 – #19 UW-Oshkosh 11, Kalamazoo 2
UW-Oshkosh scored one in the first but fell behind Kalamazoo as the Hornets scored two runs in the top of the second. Kalamazoo carried the lead into the third before UW-Oshkosh scored four in the bottom half and six in the fourth to go up 11-2. Kalamazoo was held scoreless over the final three innings.
Alyssa Hinkley had an RBI double.
London Rabb also singled and drove in a run.
Jaycee Rider had the other hit for the Hornets.
Game 2 – Colby 12, Kalamazoo 5
Ella Neumann's three-run home run in the bottom of the first put Kalamazoo on top. The Hornets led 3-1 after two innings before Colby erupted for eight runs in the top of the third. Kalamazoo cut into the deficit with two runs in the fourth but could not get any closer as Colby added three in the seventh to go up 12-5.
Kalamazoo had a season-high 11 hits in the game.
Emma Newlove went 3-for-4 with a double.
Jaycee Rider and
Ella Neumann each had two hits. Neumann finished with four RBIs.
