CLERMONT, Fla. – The Kalamazoo College softball team was defeated by MIT and Luther College on Tuesday at Legends Way.
Game 1 – MIT 11, Kalamazoo 4
Kalamazoo loaded the bases and
Emma Newlove hit a grand slam to put Kalamazoo on top 4-0 in the top of the first. MIT responded with five runs in the bottom half and five more in the second before taking the 11-4 win.
Newlove had Kalamazoo's only extra-base hit as
Ella Neumann,
Lily Evans and
London Rabb each had singles in the contest.
Game 2 – Luther 8, Kalamazoo 0
Luther led 2-0 after the second inning and 5-0 after the fourth before adding three in the fifth to make it 8-0.
Maddie Potts was 2-for-2 with a double.
London Rabb,
Lily Evans and
Alyssa Hinkley each singled for Kalamazoo.
