LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kalamazoo College men's lacrosse team lost, 13-5, at Transylvania University Friday.
Transylvania held a 1-0 lead after the first quarter. The Hornets drew even at 2-2 midway through the second, but the Pioneers regained a 7-3 lead at halftime.
In the third quarter, Transylvania continued to pull ahead, pushing the lead to 12-4 going into the fourth, where both teams scored once.
Jake Asnis led Kalamazoo with three goals, while Ronin Honda scored one goal with one assist. Max Plesscher also scored a goal to round out the scoring for the Hornets.
Jack Bungart anchored the defensive effort with five ground balls and three caused turnovers. Tony Valade made 17 saves for a .567 save percentage.
Kalamazoo men's lacrosse (4-3) heads to Wisconsin for two more games during spring break, starting with a game at Carthage College (4-5) Wednesday at 4 p.m. (3 p.m. CT) in Kenosha, Wis.
