GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team lost, 91-55, at Calvin University Saturday.
Calvin came out on fire on offense and took a 52-23 lead at the half on 63.3% shooting from the field and 55.6% from beyond the arc with a 23-16 advantage in rebounds. The Hornets shot 25.7% from the field and 16.7% for three in the first half.
The Knights stayed strong in the second half, finishing the game shooting 50.8% from the field and 42.5% for three. Kalamazoo finished 27.7% overall and 20.7% from deep.
Carter Bandemer led the way for the Hornets with 16 points. Lucas Hanifan added nine points, four rebounds, three steals and two assists.
Zander Nash had seven points and four rebounds, going 4-for-4 at the free-throw line, with Patrick Perez contributing six points and a team-high five rebounds.
Kalamazoo men's basketball heads back home for its second annual Military Appreciation Game on Wednesday at 7 p.m. against Adrian College at Anderson Athletic Center.
