WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Kalamazoo College men's lacrosse team won, 9-5, at Wilmington College Wednesday.
Wilmington started strong, taking a 3-1 lead after the first quarter. The Hornets fought back with a 6-1 advantage in the second, taking a 7-4 lead into halftime.
Kalamazoo scored the only goal of the third quarter to push the lead to 8-4 heading to the final frame. Both defenses stayed strong, with one goal for each team in the fourth.
Tate Bless led the Hornets with four points on one goal and three assists. Max Plesscher scored three goals, adding five ground balls.
Teige Bredin scored two goals, while Jack Bungart led Kalamazoo in both ground balls (8) and caused turnovers (4) with one assist. In goal, Tony Valade made seven saves to earn the victory.
Kalamazoo men's lacrosse returns home to face Illinois Tech on Saturday at 1 p.m. at MacKenzie Field.
