Kalamazoo College diver Troy Richard was named MIAA Men's Diver of the Week Monday (Feb. 23).
A freshman from Grosse Pointe, Mich. (Grosse Pointe South), Richard won the 1m dive and finished second in the 3m dive at the MIAA Championships Presented by Collegiate Credit Union this past weekend.
On Thursday, Richard earned the 1m crown with a score of 486.70, Kalamazoo's best score since Sam Ankley scored a 489.30 in 2023, when Ankley won MIAA Most Valuable Diver. Richard followed up that performance with a 497.45 score on the 3m dive, finishing second in the conference to teammate Zander Ligman.
Kalamazoo men's swimming and diving will have its divers competing at home this weekend as the Hornets host the NCAA-DIII Diving Regionals on Friday starting at 2 p.m. and Saturday starting at 12 p.m. at the Kalamazoo College Natatorium.
