NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team lost, 65-60, at Saint Mary's College Wednesday.
Saint Mary's led 11-10 after the first quarter, then heated up offensively to take a 30-22 lead at halftime.
The Hornets fought back with a 22-15 scoring advantage in the third, but couldn't complete the comeback as the Belles outscored Kalamazoo 20-16 in the fourth quarter to close out the victory.
Saint Mary's shot 38.9% from the field and 31.3% from three-point range. The Hornets were 33.3% from the field and 26.1% from beyond the arc, with a 43-41 advantage in rebounds.
Ruby Hogan led Kalamazoo with 23 points, adding eight rebounds and five assists. Sophia Moir added 20 points with eight rebounds and two steals.
Lauren Vanderstelt pulled in a team-high 12 rebounds, also leading the way with seven blocked shots to go along with six points. Semaj' Robertson contributed six points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Kalamazoo women's basketball returns home for the final game of the regular season Saturday at 1 p.m. against Alma at Anderson Athletic Center for the Hornets' Senior Day.
