NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The Kalamazoo College women's cross country team finished 18th in the Maize Division at the Running of the Cows Pre-National Meet Saturday at Carleton College.
The meet, hosted at the site of the 2026 NCAA III Cross Country National Championships, featured many of the top teams from around the country. The Maize Division totaled 32 teams.
Nora O'Leary had an outstanding race to lead the Hornets, finishing 11th with a 6k time of 23:12.5
Grace Murphy was next across the line for Kalamazoo, placing 69th at 24:17.2. Allie Nutt and Cate Cotter both earned season-bests, at 25:13.3 and 25:16.4, respectively.
"We had good movement throughout the race and Nora finishing 11th was a good sign of things to come," head coach Kyle Morrison said. "Allie Nutt stepped up big as our number four, but we needed a fifth in such a big field to compete strong as a team."
The Hornets will head to Rock Island, Ill. for their next meet on Saturday, Oct. 17 at the Augustana Interregional Invitational.
