KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team fell 70-42 to No. 21 Trine University Wednesday night inside Anderson Athletic Center. The start of the game was delayed about 35 minutes due to transportation issues.
The visiting Thunder led 15-13 after the first quarter and 32-24 at halftime. The Hornets cut it to six early in the third but trailed 48-31 at the end of the quarter. Trine outscored
Kalamazoo 22-11 in the fourth.
Trine shot 44.3 percent from the field compared to 36.7 percent by Kalamazoo. Trine held a 35-33 edge in rebounds and committed just eight turnovers compared to 22 by Kalamazoo.
Ruby Hogan led the Hornets with 14 points, four rebounds and four assists.
Lauren Vanderstelt scored seven points with six rebounds, two assists and two blocked shots.
Josee Cooked added five points, while
Sophia Moir and
Semaj' Robertson each finished with four.
Kalamazoo returns to action at Olivet on Saturday, Jan. 31, at 3 p.m.
