KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team lost, 79-65, against Alma College Saturday at Anderson Athletic Center.
Alma took a 35-28 lead at halftime, outshooting the hornets 48.1%-33.3% from the field and 40.0%-27.3% from the three-point line. Both teams had 17 rebounds, including three offensive boards, in the first half.
The Scots heated up early in the second half and finished the game shooting 52.7% from the field and 59.1% from beyond the arc. Kalamazoo finished shooting 37.0% from the field and 25.0% from long range.
Lucas Hanifan led the Hornets with 19 points, four assists and three rebounds. Patrick Perez chipped in 13 points and three steals.
Nelson Sompa and Carter Bandemer both had eight points and four rebounds, with Sompa adding a pair of assists.
Kalamazoo men's basketball heads to Trine University for its next matchup Wednesday at 7 p.m.
