KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College volleyball team earned a 3–0 sweep over Dominican (Ill.) on Saturday afternoon inside Anderson Athletic Center, winning by scores of 25–22, 25–8, and 25–18.
The Hornets hit .196 as a team while holding Dominican to just .012. After a tight opening set, Kalamazoo controlled the match with a dominant second set that included eight service aces. The Hornets then closed out the sweep in the third set, pulling away late to secure the victory.
Brittany Miller led the Hornets with 10 kills and a .333 hitting percentage, while Savannah Chapie added eight kills on .467 hitting. Tatum Casper also contributed eight kills to the balanced attack.
Makala Goddard directed the offense with 18 assists, and Bella Lewis handed out 13. Lewis also tallied 10 digs, and Rachel Meston added nine. On the defensive end, Mya Parks registered four block assists, while Scarlett Hosner added two.
At the service line, Ashley Zollman totaled four aces, and Olive Ryder chipped in three.
The win moves Kalamazoo to 8–8 overall. The Hornets return to action Tuesday, Sept. 30, when they host Albion at 7:00 p.m. at the Anderson Athletic Center.
