Women's Golf Wins MIAA Jamboree at Calvin

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's golf team won the season's first MIAA Jamboree. At the same time, Jacey Merkle took home medalist honors with the lowest score of the round Monday afternoon.

Kalamazoo shot 315 overall, the second-lowest round in school history, beating Trine by one stroke.

Jacey Merkle led the field with a two-over 74 to earn medalist honors. Her score tied for second-best in school history.

Gabrielle Sluss was 10th with a 79. Ellie Britt tied for 11th with an 80. Jillian Smith rounded out Kalamazoo's top four with an 82.

This marks Kalamazoo's second consecutive tournament win. The Hornets won Olivet's Kyle Campbell Invitational earlier this month.

The Hornets return to action next Tuesday, Sept. 30, at an MIAA Jamboree hosted by Olivet at The Medalist.
