Jacey Merkle was selected as the SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisory Committee) Women's Hornet of the Week on Tuesday.
A sophomore from Saugatuck, Mich. (Saugatuck), Merkle was Kalamazoo's highest finisher at the MIAA Spring Finale, shooting a +11 155 (75-80) to tie for seventh overall.
Merkle earned a Second Team All-MIAA honor, finishing with a season average of 78.7 in conference matches, eighth-best in the MIAA and second-best in program history. In all matches this season, Merkle tied with Ellie Britt for the lowest scoring average in program history at 79.6.
Kalamazoo women's golf enjoyed arguably its best season in program history, winning four tournaments, having Merkle earn Medalist honors three times along with two Medalist awards for Britt, and posting each of the three lowest team round scores ever, topped out by a 309 at The Medalist on Sept. 6, 2025.
