KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Kalamazoo College women's soccer team was defeated 3-0 by No. 6 University of Chicago at home Sunday afternoon.
The visiting Maroons scored in the 38
th minute and carried the 1-0 lead into halftime.
Chicago scored again in the 57
th minute followed by a goal with 1:05 left in the game.
The Maroons outshot Kalamazoo 24-2 overall, 15-2 on goal, and held a 6-1 advantage in corner kick opportunities.
Jess Forbis was credited with 12 saves in goal for the Hornets.
Kalamazoo is off until Sept. 30 when the Hornets open MIAA play at home against Saint Mary's College at 5:30 p.m.
