FRANKLIN, Ind. - The Kalamazoo College volleyball team won its first match at the Franklin Invitational 3-0 over Wilmington College Friday night. The Hornets (7-5) defeated the Quakers (0-10) 25-20, 25-19, 25-23.
Kalamazoo hit .280 in the match, the team's second-best hitting performance of the season. Wilmington hit .174.
Brittany Miller led the Hornets with 11 kills and 15 digs with a .400 attack percentage.
Taylor Stephens had 10 kills while hitting .375.
Tatum Casper and
Scarlett Hosner each finished with nine kills.
Mya Parks had eight.
Makala Goddard led the Hornets wtih 24 assists. Bella Lews had 21 assists with four aces.
Rachel Meston shared a team-high 15 digs.
Ashley Zollman finished with 11.
Kalamazoo faces Earlham on Saturday at noon followed by host Franklin at 4 p.m.
