Paige Anderson of the Kalamazoo College women's cross country team was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, as announced on Tuesday, June 24
th.
To earn this honor, the student-athlete must be a starter or an important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA, and have played at least 90% or start in 66% of their team's competitions, and be at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
Anderson, a senior from Troy, Michigan, capped off her final season as a Hornet by earning her third CSC Academic All-District Team honor. She delivered an outstanding year both academically and athletically.
Anderson was crowned the MIAA Champion with a winning time of 20:57, securing All-MIAA First Team recognition and being named the MIAA Most Valuable Runner. She went on to place second at the NCAA Division III Regional meet with a time of 21:31.4, earning All-Region honors.
As Kalamazoo's lone representative at the NCAA National Championships, Anderson delivered an impressive performance, finishing 11th in 21:17.1, an improvement of 79 spots from the previous year, and claimed All-American honors.
Throughout the season, she was a three-time MIAA Runner of the Week and was recognized as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete.
Anderson concludes her career at Kalamazoo as a three-time All-MIAA First Team and three-time All-Region honoree. She also holds the fastest 6k time in program history with a mark of 20:49.
She has been named a CSC Academic All-America finalist and will advance to the national ballot, where CSC members will vote to determine final selections.
