OLIVET, Mich. – The Kalamazoo College baseball team swept a doubleheader at Olivet on Saturday, 9-2 and 14-0 in seven innings.
Game One – Kalamazoo 9, Olivet 2
Kalamazoo scored two in the first but Olivet tied it with two runs in the bottom of the second. Kalamazoo scored four in the fourth, two in the sixth and one in the ninth for the 9-2 win.
Kalamazoo outhit Olivet 9-6 and took advantage of five Comet errors.
Cooper Mills finished with four hits, including a double, three stolen bases, three RBIs and three runs scored.
Cam Kelly was 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, one RBI and two runs scored.
Kalamazoo stole 10 bases in the game.
Logan Lockhart improved to 4-1 with the sin, striking out five and walking two in 5.2 innings.
Steven Shelton struck out three in two innings of relief.
Gabe Sokol pitched the final inning.
Game Two – Kalamazoo 14, Olivet 0 (7 inn.)
Kalamazoo scored three in the first, two in the second and four in the third to take a 9-0 lead. The Hornets added two in the fifth and three in the sixth while four Hornet pitchers combined for the shutout.
Kalamazoo outhit Olivet 13-3.
Cooper Mills was 3-for-3 with a triple, two RBIs and three runs scored.
Ryar Rinehart had three hits including a home run with three RBIs and two runs scored.
Caleb Moore had two hits including a double and three RBIs.
Liam Regan also had a double.
Carson Orvis struck out seven, walked one and allowed two hits and no runs to earn the win in six innings pitched.

Clay Cook and
Wyatt Ruppenthal closed out the game to secure the shutout.
