Angola, Ind. – The Kalamazoo College men's lacrosse team closed out their regular season with a 10-4 loss to Trine on Wednesday night. The defeat drops the Hornets to 6-7 overall and 1-5 in MIAA Conference play.
The Thunder jumped out to an early 6-4 lead heading into halftime and held the advantage throughout the second half as they outscored the Hornets 4-2.
Trine held a slight advantage in shots (42-30) and ground balls (29-27), while both teams finished even with nine face off wins.
Dylan Adkins paced the Hornets' offense with a hat trick and one ground ball.
Logan Gillis added a goal and a ground ball.
On the defensive side,
Jack Bungart led Kalamazoo with five ground balls and two caused turnovers.
Max Plesscher contributed four ground balls, and
Colby Skinner tallied two ground balls and two caused turnovers.
In goal,
Tony Valade made 15 saves but took the loss, dropping to 0-3 on the season.
The Hornets return to action on Saturday, April 26
th, as they begin the MIAA Tournament.
