Albion, Mich. – The Kalamazoo College men's lacrosse team came up short against Albion, falling 11-8 on Saturday afternoon in the opening round of the MIAA Tournament.
The Hornets wrap up their season with an overall record of 6-8 and a 1-5 mark in conference play.
Albion built a 7-3 lead by halftime. Despite Kalamazoo outscoring the Britons 5-4 in the second half, the Hornets' comeback efforts fell just short.
Albion held the advantage in shots (40-35), ground balls (34-27), and face offs (13-9).
Offensively,
Dylan Adkins and
Logan Gillis paced the Hornets with two goals and two assists each.
Tate Bless,
Cam VanGalder,
Grayson Pratt, and Michel VanGalder each added a goal.
On the defensive end,
Colby Skinner collected a team-high seven ground balls and one caused turnover, while
Jack Bungart added five ground balls and a caused turnover.
In goal,
Tony Valade recorded 14 saves on the day and three ground balls.
