Adrian, Mich. – The Kalamazoo College men's lacrosse team came up short against Adrian College, falling 13-8 on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Hornets move to 6-5 overall and 1-3 in MIAA Conference play.
Adrian jumped out to a 5-2 lead in the first period and carried an 8-6 advantage into halftime. In the second half, the Bulldogs outscored the Hornets 5-2 to secure the 13-8 victory.
The Bulldogs held the advantage in shots (47-37), ground balls (39-24), and forced 22 turnovers. Both teams were evenly matched at the face off circle, each winning 12.
Dylan Adkins led the Hornets offensively with a career-high four goals.
Logan Gillis added two goals and collected two ground balls, while
Tate Bless and
Cam VanGalder each added a goal.
Defensively,
Max Plesscher paced Kalamazoo with five ground balls.
Ryan Everham and
Jack Bungart added three apiece, with Bungart also recording a team-high two caused turnovers.
Charles Graves started in goal and made five saves.
Tony Valade took the loss (0-2), also recording five saves.
The Hornets return to action on Tuesday, April 15
th, as they host Hope at 7:00 p.m.
