KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Kalamazoo College men's lacrosse team remains undefeated with a 10-5 victory over Benedictine (IL) on Saturday, March 8
th. The Hornets improve to 4-0 on the season.
Kalamazoo took an early 2-1 lead in the first period and held a 4-2 advantage at halftime. The Hornets pulled away in the second half, outscoring Benedictine (IL) 6-3 to secure their fourth straight win.
The Hornets dominated offensively, outshooting Benedictine (IL) 45-26, while their defense forced 31 turnovers.
Jake Asnis led the attack with four goals and a team-high five ground balls.
Mitchel VanGalder added two goals, while
Max Plesscher,
Dylan Adkins,
Grayson Pratt, and
Teige Bredin each found the back of the net.
Plesscher also recorded three ground balls and an assist, while Adkins tallied two assists.
Defensively,
Lukas Graff caused a team-high five turnovers, with
Jack Bungart close behind, forcing four turnovers and collecting five ground balls.
In goal,
Charles Graves made six saves and led the team with seven ground balls, improving his record to 4-0 in the net.
The Hornets will look to keep their streak alive on Saturday, March 22
nd, when they host Carthage College at 2:00 p.m.
