KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Kalamazoo College women's lacrosse team came up short against Lawrence Tech, falling 14-12 on Wednesday night. The Hornets drop to 0-5 on the season.
Kalamazoo started strong, building a 4-1 lead at the end of the first period. Lawrence Tech battled back to close the gap, making it a 7-6 game at halftime. The Blue Devils outscored the Hornets 8-5 in the second half to secure the win.
Lawrence Tech held the advantage on Kalamazoo in shots (33-25), ground balls (24-16), and draw controls (17-13).
Morgan Vasquez and
Abbie Caza led the Hornets with three goals each. Vasquez also added on two ground balls and one draw control.
Julia Kozal and
Tessa Fuller each added two goals and one ground ball, with Kozal also tallying three draw controls.
Marin Miroslavich and
Ella Spooner also found the back of the net for the Hornets.
Kennedy Hynde led Kalamazoo in draw controls with six and ground balls with three.
Goalkeeper
Jordan Flink finished with 10 saves on the day, along with three ground balls.
The Hornets return to action on Saturday, March 8
th as they face off against Wooster at 12:00 p.m.
