Georgetown, TX – The Kalamazoo College men's lacrosse team fell to Southwestern (Tex.) 14-9 on Wednesday night, bringing their season record to 4-2.
Southwestern (Tex.) took an early lead, heading into halftime up 6-4, and maintained control in the second half as they outscored the Hornets 8-5.
The Pirates held the advantage in shots (47-36), ground balls (35-30), and face offs (17-8), while the Hornets' defense led in turnovers, forcing 22.
Jake Asnis and
Logan Gillis led the Hornets' offense with two goals each. Gillis added on a team-high of three assists and six ground balls, while Asnis picked up three ground balls.
Cam VanGalder,
Ronin Honda,
Vincent Tran,
Dylan Adkins, and
Mitchel VanGalder each found the back of the net for Kalamazoo.
Defensively,
Jack Bungart led with a team-high of five caused turnovers, followed by
James Dailey with three.
Goalie
Charles Graves recorded 10 saves and one ground ball.
