SWARTHMORE, PA -The Kalamazoo College women's lacrosse team falls to Swarthmore 19-6 to conclude their spring break trip in Pennsylvania. The Hornets fall to 1-8 on the season.
Swarthmore took control early, building an 11-2 lead by halftime before outscoring Kalamazoo 8-4 in the second half to secure the win.
Swarthmore held the advantage in shots (30-16), ground balls (18-13), and draw controls (15-13).
Ella Spooner and
Tessa Fuller led the Kalamazoo offense, each contributing two goals and a ground ball. Spooner added on two caused turnovers and one draw control, while Fuller recorded an assist, bringing her career total to 57 and breaking the previous program record of 55.
Abbie Caza and
Marin Miroslavich both found the back of the net for the Hornets.
Kennedy Hynde led Kalamazoo with a team-high of five draw controls.
Annslee Ware led with a team-high of four ground balls.
Kalamazoo returns home on Tuesday, April 1
st, as they host Alma at 7:30 p.m.
