CLERMONT, Fla. - The Kalamazoo College softball team split a pair of games with Wooster and Trinity (CT) on Saturday. Kalamazoo defeated Wooster 6-3 before falling to Trinity 12-4.
Game One - Kalamazoo 6, Wooster 3
Kalamazoo fell behind 1-0 in the second before taking a 2-1 lead in the top of the third. Wooster tied it in the bottom half and the score remained 2-2 until the top of the sixth when the Hornets scored three runs led by
Jordan Wesaw's home run. Each team scored once in the seventh to make it a 6-3 final.
Wooster had eight hits in the game compared to six by Kalamazoo.
Jordan Wesaw finished with two hits including the home run.
Landrie Fridsma had a double.Â
Maddy Vrba improved to 2-1 with the win, striking out three and walking two.
Game Two - Trinity 12, Kalamazoo 4
Kalamazoo took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the first on
Jordan Wesaw's 2-run home run. A 9-run third by Trinity put the Hornets behind 10-2. Trinity added two in the top of the fifth to make it 12-2. Kalamazoo scored two runs in the bottom half on
Ella Neumann's home run, but it wasn't enough as the game ended 12-4.
Trinity had 13 hits in the game compared to five by Kalamazoo.
Brenna Fisher had two hits and a stolen base. Wesaw and Neumann each drove in two runs with their home runs.Â

Kalamazoo (5-3) plays again Monday morning in Florida, taking on UW-Platteville at 9 a.m. followed by Lawrence at 11:15 a.m.
