KALAMAZOO, Mich – The Kalamazoo College women's lacrosse team drops home opener 25-11 to Capital University on Saturday, March 1
st. The Hornets fall to 0-4 on the season.
Capital University took an early lead against Kalamazoo, entering halftime with a 15-7 advantage.
Ella Spooner paced the Hornets with a season-high of five goals, along with two draw controls, one caused turnover, and one ground ball.
Abbie Caza was Kalamazoo's next leading scorer with two goals.
Julia Kozal,
Tessa Fuller,
Jordan Doyle, and
Morgan Vasquez each found the back of the net for the Hornets.
Kozal led the team with eight draw controls and one caused turnover, while Fuller topped the assist column, dishing out three.
In goal,
Jordan Flink recorded eight saves on the day and led the Hornets with six ground balls.
