CHICAGO, Ill. – The Kalamazoo College men's lacrosse team secured an 11-6 road victory over Illinois Tech on Saturday afternoon. The Hornets improve to 3-0 this season, their best start since 2020.
The Hornets jumped out to a 4-2 lead in the first period and held a narrow 5-4 lead at halftime. They pulled away in the second half, outscoring the Scarlet Hawks 6-2 to secure a victory.
Kalamazoo dominated offensively, outshooting Illinois Tech 49-26, while also holding the advantage in ground balls (29-25) and faceoffs (12-9). Defensively, the Hornets forced 26 turnovers throughout the game.
Logan Gillis led the Hornets with three goals, all coming in the first period to give Kalamazoo their early 4-2 lead.
Dylan Adkins and
Grayson Pratt each contributed two goals for the Hornets, while
Cam VanGalder,
Brody Quinn,
Jake Asnis, and
Mitchel VanGalder each found the back of the net once.
Quinn recorded a team-high of six ground balls, followed by
Colby Skinner, who had five.
Jack Bungart led the defense with four caused turnovers.
Goalie
Charles Graves earned his third win of the season in the net, making seven saves in today's matchup.

th, to face Benedictine (Il) at 1:00 p.m.
