HOLLAND, Mich. – The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team came up short in a 78-67 loss to Hope College on Saturday afternoon. The Hornets fall to 9-12 on the season and 2-8 in MIAA Conference play.
Kalamazoo shot 44.1% from the field, 37.5% at three-point range, and 81.8% on the line, while Hope hit 55%, 33.3%, and 66.7% respectively. The Hornets' bench outscored Hope's reserves 33-22, but were outrebounded 34-29 in favor of the Flying Dutchmen.
Kalamazoo's defense forced 15 turnovers, swiping five steals, and producing 13 points.
DJ Ferguson led the Hornets with 16 points on 7-8 shooting, while
Lucas Hanifan drilled four three-pointers to record 15 points for the Hornets.
Lukas Broadsword recorded his seventh double-double of the season, posting up 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Bradley Eziuka added 10 points to the Hornets' final score and
Caleb Caul an additional seven points.
