ATLANTA, Ga. - The Kalamazoo College baseball team won the series finale 17-2 in seven innings Sunday at Oglethorpe University.
Kalamazoo scored two runs in the top of the second but Oglethorpe tied it up with two in the bottom of the third. The Hornets followed up with five runs in the fourth, four runs in the sixth and six runs in the seventh.
Kalamazoo finished with 15 hits in the game while four Hornet pitchers held Oglethorpe to four hits.
Ryar Rinehart,
Logan Lockhart and
Caleb Moore each had three hits.
David Stechow and Austin Kerr each had two hits.
Moore drove in four runs, while Lockhart finished with three RBIs.
Carson Orvis struck out seven in 5.2 innings and earned the win in his debut.
Steven Shelton,
Parker Aten and
Blake Parpart did not allow a base runner the rest of the game.
