MEQUON, Wisc. – The Kalamazoo College men's lacrosse team opened its season with an 11-10 victory over Concordia (WI) 11-10 on Saturday afternoon.
The Hornets struck first, jumping to a 2-0 lead just four minutes into the game.
Concordia battled back to take a 6-4 advantage at the half. Kalamazoo fought back in the second half, outscoring the Falcons 5-3 in the third period and 2-1 in the fourth to secure the win.
Kalamazoo dominated offensively, outshooting Concordia Wisconsin 44-31 while also leading in ground balls (43-32) and face-offs (16-9). The Hornets forced 24 turnovers throughout the game.
Dylan Adkins and
Jake Asnis paced Kalamazoo's offense with three goals each. Adkins also contributed two assists and three ground balls, while Asnis picked up four ground balls.
Cam VanGalder added two goals, one ground ball, and a caused turnover.
Grayson Pratt,
Mitchel VanGalder, and
Teige Bredin all found the back of the net for Kalamazoo.
Logan Gillis tallied a team-high of five assists, five ground balls, and a caused turnover.
Brody Quinn led the team with seven ground balls.

Charles Graves made eight saves to help secure the victory.
