KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team fell to No. 9 Trine 81-49 on Wednesday night. With the loss, the Hornets drop to 9-15 overall and 2-11 in MIAA Conference play.
Trine took control early, building a 42-23 lead by halftime, and continued their momentum in the second half outscoring the Hornets 38-26.
Kalamazoo outrebounded Trine 44-32, hauling in 17 offensive rebounds compared to the Thunder's seven. The Hornets' bench made a strong impact, contributing 24 points overall.
Defensively, Kalamazoo forced nine turnovers swiping six steals and converting them into seven points.
Bradley Eziuka was the leading scorer for Kalamazoo, knocking down 12 points and five rebounds.
Lukas Broadsword controlled the boards, recording a team-high 13 rebounds and eight points.
Off the bench,
Lucas Hanifan added nine points hitting two shots behind three-point range, while
Connor Kouki notched up seven points.
DJ Ferguson and
Nelson Sompa each added five points, with Sompa also collecting four rebounds and two assists.
The Hornets will close out the regular season on Saturday, Feb. 22
nd as they take on Adrian College at 4:00 p.m.
