ADRIAN, Mich. – The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team closed out their season with a 77-72 victory over Adrian on Saturday afternoon.
The Hornets led at halftime with a narrow 39-38 advantage and held onto the lead in the second half, outscoring Adrian 38-35.
Kalamazoo shot 53.8% from the field, 38.9% behind the arc, and 56% on the free-throw line, while Adrian shot 44.8%, 41.4%, and 81.8% respectively.
The Hornets outrebounded the Bulldogs 35-30, pulling down nine offensive rebounds and converting them into 11 second-chance points. Kalamazoo controlled the paint, scoring 42 points inside compared to Adrian's 22.
Defensively, Kalamazoo forced 16 turnovers, grabbing eight steals and turning them into 20 points.
Lukas Broadsword led the Hornets with his eighth double-double of the season, scoring 25 points on 11-13 shooting while grabbing a team-high of 10 rebounds and dishing out six assists.
Carter Bandemer contributed 11 points, hitting three three-pointers and adding seven rebounds and three assists.
Bradley Eziuka added 10 points and two assists, while
Nelson Sompa added nine points, three rebounds, and two assists.
Jackson Keefer knocked down two three-pointers for eight points, and
Nicholas Olmeda added six points.
Kalamazoo concludes their season with a 10-15 overall record and 3-11 mark in MIAA Conference play.
