HOLLAND, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team was defeated 95-57 at No. 15 Hope College Wednesday evening.
The Flying Dutch got out to an early lead and outscored Kalamazoo in each of the first three quarters. Kalamazoo outscored Hope 18-15 in the fourth.
Hope shot 47.7 percent overall and 38.5 percent from behind the arc. Kalamazoo shot 36.5 percent overall and 20.8 percent from three-point range. Hope also made 23-of-27 free throws compared to 6-of-11 by Kalamazoo. Hope outrebounded Kalamazoo 47-30 including 15-11 on the offensive end.
Ruby Hogan led the Hornets with 13 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals.
Sophia Moir scored 10 points with two rebounds.
Lauren Vanderstelt finished with eight points and seven rebounds.
Brittany Miller also scored eight points with three rebounds.
Kalamazoo returns home on Saturday, Feb. 15, hosting Calvin at 1 p.m.
