DUBUQUE, Iowa -- The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team lost, 105-52, at Loras College Sunday. The Hornets' record now stands at 0-2.
Loras started strong, building a 42-22 lead at halftime, and outscored Kalamazoo 63-30Â in the second half.
Connor Kouki led the Hornets with 14 points, knocking down a pair of three-pointers, to go along with four rebounds and two assists. Carter Bandemer scored 10 points with three rebounds.
Nelson Sompa paced Kalamazoo in rebounds, with six, and chipped in four points, three steals, and two assists. JJ Stevens also made an impact defensively with three blocked shots and a steal.
The Hornets return to Kalamazoo for the home opener on Saturday at 2 p.m. against Dominican (IL) at Anderson Athletic Center.
