ELMHURST, Ill. - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team was defeated 59-39 at Elmhurst University Wednesday evening.
Kalamazoo trailed 15-11 after the first quarter and 27-17 at halftime. A big third quarter by Elmhurst made it a 48-21 game. Kalamazoo outscored Elmhurst 18-11 in the fourth quarter.
The host Blue Jays shot 32.8 percent overall while holding Kalamazoo to 25.9 percent. Kalamazoo held a 47-41 advantage in rebounds, including 14-13 on the offensive end.
Semaj' Robertson led the Hornets in scoring with 13 points and five rebounds in 29 minutes off the bench.
Lauren Vanderstelt recorded a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds.
Ruby Hogan finished with nine points, seven rebounds and five assists.
Kalamazoo returns home to face Kenyon College on Saturday, Nov. 22, at 2 p.m.
