KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Kalamazoo College men's soccer team tied against Albion at MacKenzie Field Wednesday, 1-1, in the final game of the regular season. With the tie, the Hornets' record stands at 4-8-4 (2-2-3 MIAA), while Albion heads to the MIAA Tournament at 12-2-2 (5-1-1 MIAA).
It was the Most Valuable Professors game for men's soccer, with each senior honoring a member of the Kalamazoo College faculty pregame.
After a scoreless first half, Albion got on the board first with a goal in the 48th minute.
Junior Matuza headed home a goal off a corner kick from Elijah Vue in the 86th minute to even the score at 1-1.
Jackson Janderwski made eight saves to keep Kalamazoo in it to earn the tie. The Hornets took seven corner kicks to four for the Britons.
The Kalamazoo men's soccer team finishes the regular season in fifth place in the MIAA and will play Saturday at Adrian in the first round of the MIAA Tournament, with game time to be decided.
