Women's Soccer Falls at Hope Saturday

Holland, Mich. – The Kalamazoo College women's soccer team fell, 3-2, at Hope on Saturday. With the loss, the Hornets are now 9-5-4 (3-2-3 MIAA), while Hope improved to 11-3-2 (6-1 MIAA).

Elle Bernas opened the scoring for Kalamazoo in the 12th minute off a great corner kick feed from Savannah Norman.

The Dutch responded with a goal on a penalty kick in the 16th minute. Hope scored again in the 23rd minute to take the lead.

Madie Miller evened the score in the 37th minute with a goal shortly after a corner kick for the Hornets.

Hope notched another goal in the 45th minute to take a 3-2 lead at halftime. Neither side could score in the second as Hope held on for the victory.

Jess Forbis made 13 saves in the match.

The Hornets will find out their opponent and location for the first round of the MIAA Tournament after the conference's final regular season games on Tuesday. The MIAA Quarterfinals will be played on Saturday, Nov. 1.
