Angola, Ind. – The Kalamazoo College men's soccer team beat Trine on the road Saturday, 1-0. With the win, the Hornets record improves to 4-8-3 (2-2-2 MIAA), while Trine fell to 1-12-3 (0-4-2 MIAA).
Ben Battreall scored the lone goal of the match directly off the opening kick, just nine seconds in.
Kalamazoo's defense took it from there, limiting the Thunder to nine shots, five on goal, with Jackson Janderwski making the save on all five. Trine also had a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks, but the Hornet defense held up on each opportunity.
The Kalamazoo men's soccer team will finish the regular season at home against Albion on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at MacKenzie Field.
