KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Kalamazoo College men's soccer team lost, 3-2, against Calvin Saturday at MacKenzie Field. With the loss, the Hornets' record now stands at 3-8-2 (1-2-1 MIAA), while Calvin improved to 11-2-1 (3-0-1 MIAA).
Brody Plumstead opened the scoring for the Hornets in the 30th minute with a strike just inside the right post for the first goal of his collegiate career.
Calvin regrouped after halftime to score goals in the 57th, 62nd and 78th minutes to take a 3-1 lead.
Kalamazoo fought back late as Zach Holden scored his first career goal on a header in the 88th minute to bring the Hornets back within one. Junior Matuza assisted on the goal.
Jackson Janderwski tied a career-high with eight saves in the loss.
The Hornets head on the road to face Olivet on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
