GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team falls to Calvin 60-35 on Saturday afternoon, dropping their record to 5-8 on the season.
The Hornets were trailing 22-17 at halftime, before the Knights pulled away in the third quarter, outscoring Kalamazoo 25-5 to take control of the game.
Calvin shot 29.7% from the field, 23.8% from behind the arc, and 78.6% on the free-throw line, while Kalamazoo shot 20.8% in the field, 25% from three-point range, and 81.3% on the line. The Knights outrebounded the Hornets 46-44, while they hauled in 22 offensive rebounds compared to the Hornets 13.
Ruby Hogan led the Hornets with 14 points, six rebounds, two assists, and one block.
Taylor Dinda recorded seven points and two rebounds off the bench.
Alyse Baughman and
Josee Cooke each added five points, with Cooke leading the team in rebounds with seven.
Lauren Vanderstelt hauled in four rebounds and five blocks on the day for Kalamazoo.
