RIVER FOREST, Ill. - The Kalamazoo College volleyball team was defeated for the first time this season, falling 3-1 at Concordia-Chicago on Wednesday night.
After Concordia won the opening set 25-18, Kalamazoo won the second set 25-13. Concordia proceeded to win the next two 25-20, 25-14 to win the match.
The host Cougars hit .168 in the match compared to .063 by Kalamazoo.
Brittany Milled led the Hornets offensively with 10 kills along with 11 digs.
Savannah Chapie added five kills, while Jacky LaFolette and
Tatum Casper each had four.
Jana Molby had 16 assists and seven digs.
Makala Goddard had nine assists and three digs.
Lizzy Rachiele had a team-high 16 digs.
Next up for Kalamazoo is the home opener on Friday, Sept. 6, at 6 p.m. against North Park University.
