KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's soccer team lost to Carthage 2-1 in a non-conference matchup on Saturday afternoon at MacKenzie Field.

After a scoreless first half, the Firebirds struck first in the 54th minute when Addie Saarenas found the back of the net off a corner kick to go up 1-0.

Kalamazoo would strike back with a goal from senior Lucy Gripe allowing the Hornets to tie the game at 1-1 in the 73rd. Carthage's Maggie Thom would secure the victory for the Firebirds with a goal in the 83rd minute for the final 2-1 victory.

The Hornets outshot Carthage 11-6 with each team having four shots on goal. Junior goalkeeper
