KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's soccer team fell in a non-conference matchup against North Park 3-0 on Saturday afternoon at MacKenzie Field.
The Vikings struck first when Sofie Swedberg found the back of the net in the tenth minute off a cross from Caroline Sjostedt to take a 1-0 lead and score the first half's only goal.
North Park extended its lead to 2-0 in the 69th minute, as Swedberg again found the back of the net off a nice pass from Selma Rydberg. The Vikings secured the victory with a goal from Nora Vagsnes and an assist from Danielle Boudakh to finish the game at 3-0.
The Hornets outshot the Vikings 18-11 with 8 of those shots being on goal. North Park had seven shots on goal. Junior goalkeeper
Elana Mitchell had four saves on the afternoon.
Kalamazoo is back in action tomorrow Sunday, September 22, when the Hornets travel to Beloit, Wis. That game is scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m. CT.
