KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's soccer team defeated Siena Heights University 4-2 in a non-conference contest on Saturday afternoon.

The Hornets wasted no time when junior
Henry Plumstead connected with sophomore
Ben Battreall in the 6th minute to take a 1-0 lead. The Saints' Guilherme Ramos found the back of the net to tie the game in the 35th minute.

Joey Basil connected with Battreall in the 55th minute and sophomore
Tony Mares-Viveros followed one minute later as the Hornets went up 3-1 in the second. Ramos struck again in the 65th minute to pull within one of Kalamazoo. Plumstead had an open field as he found the back of the net in the 68th minute to give Kalamazoo the 4-2 victory.

The Hornets outshot Siena Heights 19-9 with nine being on goal. Senior goalkeeper Gavin Houtkopper had three saves on the afternoon.

Kalamazoo is back in action on Saturday, September 21, at noon CT at Elmhurst College (Ill.).
