SANDUSKY, Ohio – The Kalamazoo College volleyball team improved to 4-0 with a pair of three-set wins on Saturday over Waynesburg and Penn State-Altoona.
Kalamazoo vs. Waynesburg
Kalamazoo defeated Waynesburg in three sets, 25-20, 25-18, 25-23. The Hornets overcame deficits of 7-2 and 12-6 in the first set. Kalamazoo led most of the second and third sets.
Kalamazoo hit .124 in the match compared to .085 by Waynesburg.
Brittany Miller led the Hornets with seven kills, 12 digs and three aces.
Savannah Chapie also had seven kills with three block assists.
Jacky LaFollette finished with six kills and a .417 hitting percentage.
Jana Molby led with 13 assists and three aces.
Sara Reathaford had 12 assists and five digs.
Lizzy Rachiele had a team-high 15 digs.
Halley Johnson had eight digs, three kills and three block assists.
Kalamazoo vs. Penn State-Altoona
Kalamazoo defeated Penn State-Altoona 25-14, 25-18, 25-20. The Hornets hit .228 in the match compared to .158 by Penn St.
Brittany Miller had 12 kills with a .385 hitting percentage along with seven digs and three aces.
Savannah Chapie had five kills with zero errors and a .500 hitting percentage along with three digs.
Tatum Casper also had five kills while hitting .444.
Jana Molby had a team-high 16 assists with three aces and three digs.
Sara Reathaford had 10 assists and four digs.
Lizzy Rachiele led the Hornets with 12 digs and three aces.
Halley Johnson finished with one kill and eight digs.
