SANDUSKY, Ohio - The Kalamazoo College volleyball team opened the 2024 season with wins over Oberlin and Washington & Jefferson on Friday.
Kalamazoo vs. Oberlin
Kalamazoo won its opener in four sets over Oberlin College, 25-23, 16-25, 25-16, 25-20.
Brittany Miller led the Hornets with 15 kills and a .314 hitting percentage.
Tatum Cooper added five kills.
Halley Johnson and
Savannah Chapie each had four.
Makala Goddard led the team with 14 assists along with three aces.
Sara Reathaford had 11 assists.
Josee Cooke had at team-high four aces.
Lizzy Rachiele led the Hornets with 10 digs. Johnson finished with nine.
Kalamazoo vs. Washington & Jefferson
Kalamazoo defeated Washington & Jefferson in three sets, 25-19, 25-20, 25-22.
Brittany Miller led the Hornets with 15 kills and a.375 hitting percentage. She also had 15 digs in the match.
Savannah Chapie had seven kills, while
Jacky LaFollette and
Halley Johnson each finished with five.
Jana Molby led the team with 11 assists, while
Sara Reathaford had nine.
Josee Cooke agian had a team-high four aces.
Lizzy Rachiele led the Hornets with 16 digs. Johnson finished with 11.
